This e book is the very best textbook for a collection of programs in pre-algebra and basic algebra that I have ever encountered. There is no assumption of preliminary knowledge other than some familiarity with basic arithmetic. Even that could be very restricted, a student in the late elementary faculty would perceive the material of the first few chapters. The pedagogy is the correct one for the center and early high school student. A number of, generally three or less, pages of recent material adopted by a large set of exercises. Diagrams are extensively used, and youngsters will love the inclusion of the cartoons. Most of the cartoons are from the Wizard of Id and Peanuts strips. Solutions to most of the exercises are included in an appendix.
